 "SOWING SEEDS OF FAITH"

TEXT:Luke 6:38

God's sowing and reaping principles is a timeless principle that one may apply in our Christian daily walk. It may involve our career, physical, financial, and spiritual aspect of our lives. If we want to walk a victorious life, we need to take heed of these truths that God's word will unleash to us today.

Are you a farmer? Did you experience planting a seed? Does it grow instantly?

One Key to Spiritual Leadership and ministry breakthrough is found in Jesus’ call to "give and it will be given”. Financial obstacles tempts us to give up but instead, God's word calls us to give away.

A. THE LAW OF DIVINE RECIPROCITY

(Luke 6:38)

There is a Universal Law of Divine Reciprocity. You give; God gives in return. When you plant a seed, the ground yields a harvest. That is reciprocal relationship. You put money in the bank and the bank returns interest. That is reciprocity.

  • ABUNDANCE BEGINS WITH INVESTMENT (Malachi 3:8-11)

Where do you invest your time, talent, commitment, and money?
In this passage, Israel shows their unfaithfulness to God in their giving. God challenged them to counter their neglect by proving their faithfulness in this matter of giving. If they give all their tithes and offerings, He would open the windows of heaven (send the blessing) and rebuke the devourer.
Honoring God and His command to give brings abundance!

  • HOW DOES THE SEED PRODUCE FRUITS? (John 12:24-26)

The seed must die first in order to produce much grain.

3 Points Jesus is saying to us here

         1. Willingness to die for Him
         2. Willingness to follow Him
         3. Willingness to serve Him

Jesus exemplifies the essence of "giving" by "sowing Your own life,” Your own interest! I believe, with all my heart that this is the best and excellent gift you and I can give.

  • WHEN WILL BE THE BEST TIMING TO SOW or PLANT OUR SEED FAITH? (2 Cor. 8:1-4)

In the time of need! This pathway of yielding up all to Him often calls us to give when we ourselves maybe in need. It seems counterproductive, but giving out of our own need is God's way of clearing the avenues for heaven's abounding toward His purposes for ministry and service that He wants to send into the Earth's realm through us.

The Macedonian church is one perfect example for this.First, they give themselves to the Lord; second, they give to the ministry.

B. GIVE GOD YOUR BEST, THEN EXPECT HIS BEST (2 Samuel 24:10-24)

David, a man after God's own heart had sinned and as a result, plaque came on the people. God gave him options and immediately harbor God's just judgment on that same day. To atone for this sin and stop the calamity, God told David to build and altar on the threshing floor of Araunah. In respect to the king, Araunah tried to offer the land, the oxen and other items for sacrifice to the king for free but king David insisted to pay and said, “I will not offer anything to the Lord my God that" Cost me Nothing". After He gave that offering, God's judgment for Israel had ceased! Hallelujah!

The very heart of Seed Faith is that unless you experience some sacrifice, you have not truly given. Unless your giving cost you something, something that represents your very own life- then it is not a living gift and will not yield a good harvest.

  • OUR GIVING TO THE LORD MUST BEAR THESE 3 QUALIFICATIONS:

1st, it should be our BEST. (2 Samuel 24:24/ Mark 14:3/ Luke 7:36-48)
2nd, we should give to God first. (Prov. 3:9)
3rd, our giving should be Generous (2 Cor. 9:6-7)

As Jesus said to His disciples, "freely you have received, freely give"(Matt. 10:8)

C. GOD EXPECTS YOU TO RECEIVE A HARVEST FROM YOUR GIVING

"Give and it shall come back to you..." (Luke 6:38).
"Then your barns will be filled to overflowing...(Prov. 3:10).

Jesus opened up a whole new way of giving. We can no longer pay or sacrifice our way into God's mercy. Jesus Christ has paid our debt before God the father! And  His cross is a completed work in our eternal interest! Hallelujah! Praise His Holy name!

Our giving then is no longer a debt that we owe, but a seed that we sow!
The life and power source is from Him. Ours is simply to act on the power potential in that seed life He has placed in us by His power and grace!
Notice that Jesus said, "Give, and then said and it shall come back to you."
Giving and receiving belong together. Jesus said the harvest would be "good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.”
God will supply seed to the sower and bread for food, multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness (2 Cor.9:10).

  • REMEMBER, GOD HAS A DUE SEASON FOR ALL THE SEEDS YOU PLANT (Galatians 6: 7-9)

God has a timetable for every seed we plant. His timetable is not always our timetable.Sometimes the"due season" means a quick return; sometimes it means a slow return.

3 things we need to understand
          1. God will cause a harvest to come from our seeds.
          2. God is never early or late.
          3. Our harvest will have the same nature as our seed sown.

  • WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO DURING THE GROWING TIME OF OUR SEEDS? (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

1. Refuse to become discouraged.
2. Determine to keep your faith alive and active
3. Give and keep on giving, love and keep on loving. Know this - a harvest is guaranteed. Continue an attitude of expectancy.

CONCLUSION

The passion for God to move among His people sometimes seems slow in being rewarded. Sincere leaders often labor, pray, and seek fruitfulness for extended seasons before the long sought harvest. This passage may apply many ways, but to the earnest leaders and congregation, the call is, "do not lose heart" the harvest is certain. Spirit directed words, actions, giving, serving, and loving are all good seeds. God has promised to multiply these good seeds back to you. There is due season. Wait for it!

In His Love,
