So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your ancestors, has given you?

JAMES 1:21

"Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you."

What is meant by that is the internal willingness to listen to and to hear the Word of God for your life. It is all too easy to listen to the Word but not to hear it. Look at the people who went out in the desert to hear John or those that followed Jesus or Paul for that manner. They had to get out of their homes, go to a place that was unfamiliar to them, and listen to words that were not easy words. And they had to hear them. And they did it. When they spoke, they heard the Word of God. It was not God's voice, but it was the Word of God, nonetheless. HEBREWS 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. There are so many voices speaking today, that it is dangerously easy in our culture to filter out the things we do not want to hear. If the news is bad, we change channels. If the chair is uncomfortable, we move. If the food does not taste right, we threw it out.

We have grown too self-centered, thinking and acting as if the world revolves around us. We need to hear the Word of God, and let it sink into our soul. When that Word makes us uncomfortable, we need to listen even closer, and hear it even more. We need to learn that ‘uncomfortable’ is not always bad. We need to let God change us. But that will happen only when you pick up the Word and let it settle into you. Some of you have been thinking, "That sounds good, but I just don't have the time to read the Bible every day." Listen my brothers and sisters in Christ; you do not have the time NOT to read the Bible every day. If you can find the time to brush your teeth and comb your hair and dress your body then you need to make time because you can not afford NOT TO! God will call you to account one day, and when you stand before Him, whining about your busy life, He is going to point out the GARBAGE that you held onto, to avoid His Word. I do not know what the ‘time wasters’ in your life are. It may be television, surfing the internet, or talking on the phone. It may be reading novels, hanging out with friends of the world, or may be world activities that you take part in. It might be hanging out really doing nothing; it might be too much sleep or too much work! Or it may be watching too many movies. But whatever it is, it is GARBAGE that you need to take out NOW. And those things are just the tip of the iceberg. There is other GARBAGE that lingers; trash in your life that needs to be taken out.

GALATIANS 5:19-25 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Attitudes that are ungodly; language that is not Christ-like; behavior that is an abomination; desires that are unclean; ways that are not of God; and thoughts that are demonic in nature. These things are there for 1 reason and that is to separate you from God's love and presence through Jesus Christ. You will know what this garbage is as you spend more and more time in God's word. Get rid of it, my brothers and sisters in Christ, and let God clear up your heart and your life.

The reality is this: you cannot clean the garbage out by yourself; some of these things took years and years to build up and you will need God's help. You cannot understand the Word of God yourself; you need God's help. You cannot live an effective, vital, Christian life yourself; you need God's help. You cannot serve God in your flesh; you need God’s help. You need the HOLY SPIRIT to be truly ALL that God wants and knows you can be for Him!Ask God to fill you with His Spirit, and you will be equipped to do all the things you want to do, and so much more. Try and make a fresh start on your own, and you will do all right for a bit, but then you will fall, just like those resolutions that have already fallen. However, with God's help, you can do anything. Remember, Jesus told us that with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19.26).

 VIDEO # 2

For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

Once we have according to the wisdom of the Holy Spirit through the reading of God's word recognize all that has been stealing our time, attention and Christ-like attributes which is really meant for the Lord. Then we need to ask as mentioned before the Lord's help through His Holy Spirit to not only give us discernment but empowerment to change those negatives into positives. You see this is about taking our walk of discipleship for the Lord Jesus Christ to the next level. Making a covenant with God is a move to draw even closer to Him in a way that goes beyond prayer and other principles, which usually apply to seeking God such as fasting and education and reading. ROMANS 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Making a covenant with God is making a promise to God that you are not only willing to stop certain things (with His help of course!) {overeating, oversleeping, drinking, fleshly desires, gossiping, smoking, worldly friends, bad words, etc} that you have been doing for a long time that you will surrender to Him but to start certain things for Him as well, {go to a Holy Spirit filled church, Bible study, prayer meetings, get involved in a ministry that helps others, start witnessing often, go to Bible university, etc} things that you know will definitely bring you closer to Him that you have always wanted to do for Him but could not (also with His help). PHILIPPIANS 4:3 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” This is what I call SURRENDER and SURROUND.

A personal covenant is made for the purpose of either wanting to grow spiritually yourself or for the purpose of your nation to turn back to God or for the purpose of the body of Christ to wake up and be prepared for its Groom. State your purpose to the Lord and do not be condemned if you sometimes fail but be convicted to do it with the Holy Spirit's help, which is ALL FOR HIS GLORY! LUKE 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” This brings me to the part of letting the Lord establish you so that the new things that you start and the old things that you give up for Him will happen and that no enemy will steal away your effort or resolve to truly do this for the Lord! Trust this one thing about Satan, he hears your prayers and your desires and will attack you to make sure that you neither stop those things nor start those things for the Lord. JAMES 4:7“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"

To be established by God is to recognized who you are in Christ and not to try to do things on your own but use what God has given us when it comes for living our life IN TOTAL OBEDIENCE TO HIS WORD!!! It can be done but you will need to use the principles of God’s word and the powers and authority in the mighty name of JESUS CHRIST and the discernment and wisdom of the Holy Spirit to recognize the devices of Satan and to overcome him. Satan, this world, and our flesh will attempt to knock you down if you are not fully aware of those at ALL times. 1 JOHN 4; 4 “We of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” When you least expect it, EXPECT IT!!! Anytime that you make a serious commitment to God such as a personal covenant to the ALMIGHTY, you better believe, Satan has already got lined up for you the many ways and demons that he plans to bring onto you to deter you or to steal your passion and desire to please our loving God. Satan will not come at once, he will wait until you are least expecting or not covered or not protected. Not every Christian understands spiritual warfare and many want nothing to do with it for they want to live their life their way but in actuality it is not even their lives for Christ bought that on the cross!!!

"He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-- not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."

The word covenant means "to fetter" or chain together. It was the highest form of commitment that two individuals could share. Then the Lord initiated His covenant with a man, He did so as an extension of His eternal purpose; the man was a big part in a series of divine initiatives. Contained within the Lord's covenant were His divine intervention, His supernatural wisdom and strategies, and His provisions. Thus, if we look at the Lord's call to Noah, we see that it was not the ark, but the covenant of God, that preserved Noah and his family during worldwide judgment. GENESIS 9:9-11 “I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you 10 and with every living creature that was with you--the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you--every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” Noah was a component, a factor in a series of divine initiatives, which accomplished the Lord's predetermined plans. God established the covenant, designed the ark, and brought the animals. The Lord even shut the door after Noah entered the ark. Consider also the power released in Hezekiah's covenant with God. The nation of Judah had been fully corrupted by Ahaz, the preceding king. However, Hezekiah began his reign by seeking God's highest favor. He opened the doors of the temple and reconsecrated the priests. Yet, the purification of priests and buildings by themselves would not have brought about revival had not Hezekiah taken one further step. He said, "Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that His burning anger may turn away from us" (2 Chronicles 29:10). Just eight days after the king made a covenant with the Lord, we read, "Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced over what God had prepared for the people, because the thing came about suddenly" (verse 36). The difference between a long-term struggle and a speedy turning of the nation was, I believe, in the power that was released when the king covenanted with the Almighty.

When the Lord entered into covenant with man, God promised that the covenant conditions and possibilities would not only apply to His servant, but His servant's descendants as well. Noah and his family, Abraham and his seed, and David and his family were all united as beneficiaries of God's covenant relationship. Similarly, we are saved and sustained through life's battles by Christ's covenant with the Father. HEBREWS 9:15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance--now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Our salvation has been secured, not only because Jesus died for our sins, but because His death was part of a covenant He had with the Father. The fact that Jesus suffered on my behalf is staggering, but His crucifixion was a component of an even more powerful reality: His covenant with the Father. The terms of Christ's covenant were such that, if He would live His life blamelessly and offer that holy life upon the cross for sins, everyone who looked to the Son of God would be granted forgiveness. The Father would look to Christ's sacrifice and see justice; and sinners would look to Jesus and find mercy. Yet, as maturing disciples, we find in Christ's covenant-mission not only our peace, but also a pattern Christ calls us to follow. He told His disciples,"As the Father has sent Me, I also send you" (John 20:21). Having laid down His life in covenant surrender, He now bids us, "Take up [your] cross, and follow Me" (Matthew 16:24).
To many Christians, the idea of making a special covenant with God is unfamiliar. Yet, I believe that many have already felt the Holy Spirit speaking, urging them to deepen their commitment to Christ. Even so, covenants and our obedience to them must come from our hearts in response to the Lord's initiative. You will know the extent of your covenant by the measure of vision and faith, which also come from God. Making a covenant with God takes us further into our goal of Christ-likeness. It is the highest relationship we can enjoy with God and it is the most deeply surrendered. It is, in truth, that which brings Him the most pleasure. To those who covenant with God, He says, Gather "My godly ones to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice" (Psalm 50:5). Today, as this world stands at the threshold of two realities, let us take time in prayer and kneel before the Almighty Father. In Christ-like, focused surrender, as Christ was a living sacrifice for our sins, so let us become living sacrifices to God for those we love. Let us embrace covenant ‘oneness’ with God that His purpose and passions be fulfilled in our lives and in our times.

ROMAN 16:25

"Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past."

This has been a very hard time for this ministry and for me personally as well. PPATW went through the same thing last year right around the same time with the loss of many staff to worldly things and also I suffered in health issues and my car was stolen. This year we have some staff that are not on the same page as the ministry and I lost one of my jobs which is a big financial set back to PPATW and then there was the flood of CDO and Iligan City which affected key personnel of our family. We walk by faith and not by feelings or sight and what the devil has meant for pain GOD WILL USE FOR HIS GAIN! God revealed to me that we as an organization, PPATW, and myself were attacked because of our genuine love for Him and that we should let nothing stop us from achieving all for Him. As we withstood lest years attack and grew so much in the Lord and the ministry did too so shall we do this year with even greater expectations of God's goodness. Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, so remember it is not God tieing our hands but us tieing His because He wants to do so much through us but it is according to the power that worketh in us! Or in other words according to our faith which worketh in us! Listen to God has to say about what He wants to do for us! Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. What a glorious day it will be when we fully come to the realization what we are capable of accomplishing IN CHRIST! As Jesus stated we will be able to speak in tongues, cast out demons and heal the sick but it depends upon our faith in Him and our obedience to His word! There will still be some changes in this ministry some will leave and new ones will come but our standard will NEVER CHANGE! We will never compromise the word of God and we believe in serving and seeking God daily not with our words but with our HEARTS! This lesson is meant as an inspiration that no matter what you are going through God will always be there through His son Jesus and the Holy Spirit and so will we as brothers and sisters of the Lord. You are never alone and never feel as though you are not worthy because these are lies of the wicked one and mean only to disheartened God's chosen. Psalms 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. So please remember no matter how bad things are or have gotten God is still our refuge and strong tower all He wants is a covenant with you if you are truly willing to surrender those things that are not of Him in your life and that are holding you back and as He has promised He will give you more of Him and meet all of you needs and even some of your desires! Where will you find a promise like that where you know it is GUARANTEED? Join me everyone in this conference room and those hearing this message if you don’t know Jesus NOW IS THE TIME TO RECEIVE HIM AS YOUR SAVIOR! Do not wait or procrastinate and if you do know Him as your savior but not as the Lord of your life NOW is the time to truly surrender ALL to Him to make this the year the year of BREAKTHROUGHS where we can make a personal covenant with our Heavenly Father to be blessed by Him to be a blessing to others!!!
