A Heart Like His

Being a Christian is simply to be Christ-like. We are to be like Him. This is the will of God for us; That we should be conformed to the image of His Son. It it to this end that we, as those that God foreknew in Romans chapter eight, are predestination. I know that this word and this passage in Romans eight is badly misused and abused by the religious people of the world. But the ignorance and foolishness of those is no reason for us to be afraid to be honest about this truth. God, in His foreknowledge has pre-determined that those who will be saved are to be conformed to the image of His own Precious Son. It is just that simple. In being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ, then, we would grow and mature to the place that we would begin to have a heart like His. We would begin to think like He does about some things; to share His desires and affections for others, especially the Church. We would be more like Him.

SHARE HIS CONCERNS…

1. He came because He loved us all and all who will are welcome to come and drink of the water of life freely.

2. We should love all people alike

a. we like to choose those that we would want to save don’t we. Praise God that He did not leave that to us but He is willing to receive all that will come to Him in repentance.

Conclusion

We need to seek to have a heart like His. There is so much to do, there are so many to reach and there is so little time. Sometimes it seems hopeless. We must remember, we were too one day. But God had a heart for you, He had a heart for me. We don’t need to give up, don’t need to quit.

(2Peter 3:9) The Lord is waiting because he doesn’t want any to be lost. Many will, but it will not be His fault.

Do you have a heart like his? What are your concerns, your desires, your wishes? They ought to be

1. to bring Glory to Him

2. to see sinner’s saved

3. to edify the church

To be a blessing!
